Monolithic Construction

Monolithic Construction

The heart and core of any biosafety cabinet is construction. LabGard® AIR is constructed as a single piece. A stainless steel wrap is bent to create the cabinet’s walls. Additional sheets of stainless steel are seam welded to make up the top and bottom. A second bent sheet of stainless steel is inserted and welded to create the work zone walls. A final piece of stainless steel is welded into place creating the foundation for the cabinet’s plenum. The result is a monolithic shell created without the use of rivets or sealants creating a longer lasting safer product.


Filter Integrity Check

Model NU-543 features larger 99.99% @ 0.3 μ efficiency HEPA filters that are tested using IEST Recommended Practices as prescribed by biosafety cabinetry standard NSF/ANSI 49. Exhaust and Supply HEPA filters feature more filter media equating to longer filter life and lower operating costs. HEPA filters are tested twice during the manufacturing process. Once before the filter is installed and again fitted in the biosafety cabinet before it ships. This integrity check process ensures you receive the safest biosafety cabinet out of the box with zero headaches. We believe in our process so much we included our filters in our warranty.

FlowGard electronic control system

The LabGard® AIR offers the latest digital microprocessor design technology for improved cabinet performance and safety. The FlowGard™ control system integrates a dual thermistor airflow sensor (intelliflow™) to monitor the cabinet’s airflow performance. The FlowGard™ also controls the motor/blower, visible light, UV light (optional), outlet(s), alarms, and the sliding window position.


nitecare™ Night Setback Mode

Upon sliding the window sash into the closed position, the motor blower will continue to operate at a lower rate to save energy and maintain interior clean air conditions ready for use upon window sash opening.

A vacuum surrounds all LabGard® positive pressure plenums relative to the room. In the event of a leak via gasket failure, all contaminated air in the plenum is forced through HEPA filtration. The HEPEX™ system also works to provide accurate laminar airflow by evenly distributing plenum air over the supply HEPA filter. The flexible design eliminates any vibration transfer from the motor blower as well as creates a serviceable work environment for Certifiers after decontamination.

Sterile Drug Compounding Laboratory Equipment

You should always have two things at the front of your mind when compounding drugs for your clients: safety for your personnel and a pure, uncontaminated end product. This is why it is of the utmost importance to use equipment that will deliver safety, sterility and integrity. NuAire can offer you all three with a comprehensive line of compounding containment equipment to make your job easier and produce a superior quality product.

NuAire's Compounding Aseptic Isolator (CAI), the PharmaGard PR797 Compounding Pharmacy Isolator, is perfect for the compounding of non-hazardous drugs. It provides users with a positive pressure, sterile work environment. A wide array of features make this a great unit for any compounding pharmacy, some of the most attractive being a USP 797 Compliant aseptic compounding environment, unidirectional HEPA-filtered airflow supply and 20 air changes per minute. Air changes happen not only within the work zone; they also happen in the interchange areas to ensure compliance with stringent ISO Class 5 conditions.

Compounding Aseptic Containment Isolators (CACI) such as the PharmaGard NR800 Compounding Containment Pharmacy Isolator and the PharmaGard NTE800 Total Exhaust Compounding Containment Pharmacy Isolator are the best option for creating an aseptic ISO Class 5 controlled negative pressure clean air environment when compounding hazardous drugs, such as those used for chemotherapy. Meeting the USP standard , PharmaGard is a great option for pharmacies compounding small to large amounts of hazardous drugs. The basic premise of these units is that negative pressure is maintained within the HEPA-filtered interchange compartment while the workspace is operated with negative pressure comparable to that of the surrounding room, minimizing or completely eliminating the chance that hazardous materials or chemotherapy agents might escape into the room. This also works the other way and prevents contaminants from finding their way into the sterile work area.

It's important to note that, in addition to CAIs and CACIs, Class II Biological Safety Cabinets (BSC) can be an essential part of the compounding pharmacy's stable of equipment, making it possible to safely compound even the most hazardous drugs, including chemotherapy. The unique exhaust systems allow for minimal to absent cross-contamination and superior air filtration while protecting personnel, equipment and the environment.

Perhaps the most essential aspect to providing top-notch compounding for your patients is having a clean and filtered work area. Your compounding areas must be free of bacteria, viruses and particulates. With NuAire's Horizontal and Vertical Laminar Airflow Hoods, you can create a HEPA-filtered work area that is "swept" clean of any contaminants that might compromise the quality, sterility, and integrity of your compounded product.

 

Tissue Culture Laboratory Equipment

Maintaining healthy cell lines that are free of contamination must be the main concern in the tissue culture lab. Even the smallest amount of foreign material can alter the outcome of a culture, rendering it useless. This is why every lab should maintain best practices, including utilizing the proper equipment to ensure culture integrity.

Biological Safety Cabinets (BSC), including the LabGard® Air, Model NU-543, are an advantage to the tissue culture lab. NuAire BSCs provide a sterile environment minimizing the potential for cross-contamination of specimens. Class II BSCs protect your cultures, end user, and the laboratory environment from exposure when properly used.

Once cultures have been processed, they must have a contaminant-free environment to grow in. NuAire's CO2 Incubators offer a finely controlled in-vitro growth environment. Properly used, tissue cell growth is neither stunted nor ceased through desiccation. Additionally, the chamber of the NuAire Laboratory CO2 Incubators creates an environment for optimal storage of animal tissue cell cultures and gametes at very close to body temperature through the use of properly controlled CO2 gas, humidity and temperature. Both direct heat (air) and water jacket versions are available for reliable cell tissue growth applications.

While performing any tissue culture procedure, it's necessary to maintain a clean, contaminant-free environment. NuAire Laminar Airflow Workstations with HEPA-filtered air come in various sizes and configurations for different applications. From Air Showers to the more compact Horizontal and Vertical Airflow models, to the completely portable, you can be assured of a clean environment throughout your lab or within your workspace.

Finding a freezer to reliably store samples can be stressful at best. NuAire's Upright Ultra-Low Temperature Laboratory Freezers provide the best, most stable sample storage available. In three different sizes, all freezers can be maintained at consistent temperatures to -86 Centigrade. Depending on your lab's needs, you can choose between the

Centrifuges may all look the same, but they're certainly not built that way. Cells are delicate and need to be handled as such.
